Went to all the high school and college basketball games though I am not big into sports in general. Perhaps it was to see those young men rather than the sport itself but I do love the Olympics. One not only gets to see the events but also to learn about the country where they are being held. I especially like the winter Olympics. Watched the opening ceremony and quite a bit of ice dancing etc. on Saturday evening. Know there will be some really great moments and some disappointments also. It is a time for the world to come together for two weeks every two years. Today is also Super Bowl Sunday. Will watch some of that mainly for the commercials. For all real sports fans, this is a great day indeed!
Am working with a new lawyer on a new will. It has sort of gotten out of hand. She suggested that the best thing to do was to put everything in a trust. That entailed a trip to the Hancock County court house on Monday to get copies of deeds. Not as easy as it sounds. A return trip on Wednesday. Also, a trip to the accessors office to try to figure out some legal descriptions. Any way I think I now have all the deeds but I keep running out of time as I have to get back and open my store. Several appointments done but still more to do. Will be glad to get all the legal work in good order and then not to have to think about it again for a while hopefully.
Shirley Ramsey passed away this week. Her funeral was held Saturday at Living Faith UMC. She was such a nice lady and certainly will be missed. We had left over treats from the funeral dinner at church this morning as well as beautiful flowers. Our sympathy to her family and friends. Another member of our church family had a very serious stroke this week. Please keep him and his family and friends in your prayers.
Check engine light was on in my van so took it to Tillitt’s. They diagnosed that it needed a new thermostat so worked my van in on Thursday afternoon after the auction. Hopefully that will take care of the problem. Got some things for the store at the Lowderman auction so will be pricing on Tuesday. Kind of fun to research and price things. Got a lovey tea set decorated with purple violets.
When I am in Carthage, I often stop at Hardees. Wednesday, I got there just as the menu changed to lunch. Great timing. I think because I am a business owner, that I am very aware of the actions of employees most everywhere. The young women waiting on the counter were great. While I was there, three different ladies were working the counter and the drive through which one can hear. They were all very helpful and kind. So good to see kind helpful people.
Have a great week. Wash your vehicle to get the salt off it. Enjoy the warmer weather and the Olympics. Scatter Kindness and Love!
