Happy March! Used to write a happy month greeting to friends, perhaps time to renew that tradition. Hope it is a good month for you and yours and hope we see some spring days. I already have crocus in bloom and Lenton roses peaking through the dead foliage.
Had a finance meeting at Living Faith on Monday evening. I saw not two deer but two herds of deer on the way to the meeting. Watch out for them when you are driving as they can be unpredictable. The meeting went well.
Have discovered the Aldi answer to “gold fish”. They are called “turtles” and a peck box is under $4. Great for snacking in the car as they are not chocolate covered and don’t melt on your hands.
Watched the entire “State of the Union” address on Tuesday evening. Was interested in how perceived harm by immigrants was a focus but the deaths caused by ICE was not mentioned.
Had a great day at the store on Friday. Hopefully as the weather warms, more people will get out and shop. Thanks to all who come and shop the store or even just come to visit. Thank You.
Saturday, I chose to watch a Hallmark movie rather than the news. I cannot write this column without mentioning “the elephant in the room” though now that elephant seems to not only be in the room but let loose on the world. In my opinion no one person should feel that they have the right to kidnap the ruler of another country. No one person has the right to decide to bomb another country either. We live in a world where video games are popular and I think games of war are also popular but these are not games and the consequences are grave. Imagine our reaction if someone came into America and kidnapped our leader. You may also remember the reaction of the world to 911. Though we may not agree with the politics of another country, we do not rule the world and we should not. Immigrants made America what it is today. It is more than likely that if you have a doctor, that they are from another country. Our space program was largely begun by Wernher von Braun, a German scientist who came to America. So many great accomplishments in science, technology, medicine and other fields have come from people who came to America to fulfill their dreams.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I realize that and I will not try to sway your opinion or should you look down on me for mine. I am very serious about scattering Kindness and Love. Do what you can to make the lives of others better. If you have the monetary ability to help others-do it. If not then be kind to others. Hateful rhetoric on Facebook or other media helps no one.
Again “love your neighbor as yourself” remembering that all are your neighbors.
