We Are Community 306
Today is Mother’s Day. A day that we celebrate all women because even if they have not given birth, they have undoubtedly nurtured children or animals. I hope you were able to celebrate with your mom or do something special.
The service of remembrance for Bruce Morton was held at the Ebenezer Chapel on Saturday. I often drive by the Ebenezer Chapel near Rushville but this one is in Adams County. The service was very nice and I think Bruce would have approved. I grew up in a one room country church-Friendship United Methodist Church just north of Tennessee. It had burned and been rebuilt three times. Ebenezer is completely original. The seating is amazing. There is a center partition into which the seats fit from each side. One the outside of these seats is another row of wooden seats. In the middle, they face each other. There is a Memorial Day service at this chapel every year. As I taught in Adams County, I recognized many of the family names in the cemetery and even one teacher with whom I taught. I plan to attend the Memorial Day service as the chapel is just amazing and I would love to see it in use once again.
Had put a bag of kitty food on the back porch to haul to the garage when I went to feed. When I stepped out the back door there was a coon attached to the bag trying to open it. Got there before it succeeded but had the right idea and was making real progress on one the of corners.
Unloaded and priced the rest of the things from the Lowderman auction this week. A few things went directly into a box for 3rd Sunday Market.
There is a lovely young woman who shops the antique store. Learned this week that she is a contestant on the TV Show, The Farmer Wants a Wife on Fox. Perhaps I can find it as would be really fun to watch someone one actually knows.
Had my AC checked this week. One unit is in my attic. I locked Sal in his coop on the porch because if he ever got loose in the attic, I probably would never find him again. You would not believe how loving he was after spending an entire day in the coop.
Stopped by Farm King to look at their plants. They have those great green and pink ornamental sweet potato vines again so bought several. Have not seen them anywhere else and they are so cute.
Early Monday morning, I got a cold call asking me to call Mary Miller to urge her to support Trumps stand on AI. They certainly had the wrong number. Also got a call where it sounded like child just laughed and hung up. Perhaps they just got hold of the phone and called by accident.
Hope you have a great week. Don’t let the kids play with your phone. Scatter Kindness and Love. Oh, how we need love in our world.
