Happy Mother’s Day to all the ladies out there! Whether you are a mother, you have helped nurture something living whether a child, a plant, or a furry or feathered friend.
Attended a wonderful performance at the Legacy Theater last night-Neil Berg’s 100 Years of Broadway. Berg is probably the best pianist I have ever seen. At times his performance was so exciting that he could not remain seated to play. He and three other performers from Broadway sang hits from famous musicals. Great music opens the windows of my soul. Only problem with that is that many of the most famous songs are Love songs which reminds some of us of what we have lost and wonder if we will find love or find love again. Great show!
Have been telling you about my new kitten, Sally, and her adventures with Puff. The fences have been cleared! They now eat and play together and I think they will be great companions.
Went to Macomb yesterday to see both the Farmer’s Market and the Pop-Up Market on the Courthouse Square. Was very impressed with the crowds. Interested that several of the pop-up vendors had vehicles that one could actually walk into thus not needing to set up and tear down. What a great idea but not possible for my antique shows.
I carry a pocket full of credit cards because if “one plays their cards right” one can get cash back. Two of my favorite cards are the Citi Double Cash and the Citi Custom Cash which I use only for groceries so I get 5% cash back on all my groceries. When I used my card at Hy-Vee for steak night, it was declined. Eventually their machine said “insufficient funds”. Knew that could not be right unless someone had gotten my numbers and put several thousand dollars of charges on my card. Immediately went home and called the number on the back of my card. Was told that I had an unpaid balance of $86, 41 of which was overdue. Though the nice lady would have had access to my payment history, her attitude was superior and not helpful. I like numbers and I am OCD about keeping records so looked my payments up and with records in hand called again on Friday. Got a nice gentleman who actually looked at my records. We agreed on what had been paid and I told him that I had not gotten a statement for April and requested a duplicate statement so that I could check charges and then would pay. He said just call back and they would work on the interest charges. Handled-right? Saturday morning at 8 am I got a call telling me the call was an attempt to get payment for $86 of which 41 was overdue. Interestingly, I received the same call at 11 am on Saturday again! Not too concerned now that I know that my credit card number has not been stolen but certainly an eye opener for “customer service”.
Saw four larger gold fish in one of my fish ponds. Will go to the pet store and save a few more ”feeder fish” to restock the other two ponds.
Reset all my clocks one evening this week and 10 minutes later the electricity blinked off. Hum…
Lovely spring flowers and warmer weather-enjoy. Am loving the new choice for Pope. Finally, one from America and one who believes in inclusion as did Jesus. Have a great week. Keep your credit cards close to you. Scatter Kindness and Love-it just might make someone’s day as well as improving your own!
