Talk about great service! As I have had a B&B for over 40 years, I have been with most every credit card company. In past years one had to purchase a machine which sat on your desk and cost about $400 or more. Then Square came on the scene which allowed me to take cards at shows on my phone. The problem was that there was NO customer service with Square. One could not talk to a human and often had to identify a bunch of photos to get a transaction done. Went to my bank and they had a system called Clover. Signed up for that and it has been great most of the time. One has a reader which connects by Bluetooth to my phone so that I can take cards anywhere. Processed one card at 3rd Sunday then could not get it to connect again. Went to bank for help on Monday. We still could not get it to work so my local bank called for back up help. A gentleman drove from Quincy to my store! He found the problem and got it working while there was a customer waiting to use a card. Thank you to the Augusta bank and all their branches. Real human help is really appreciated -especially today!
Monday was Memorial Day. It used to be called Decoration Day and I remember going with my mother to all the cemeteries with fresh flowers from our yard. I continue the tradition only I now buy silk flowers. The Plymouth Legion has a service on the Plymouth Square and afterwards invite everyone to a pot luck at the Legion building. Both are appreciated. Thank You.
Has been a great week at the store. Two couples who shopped with me at 3rd Sunday in Bloomington drove to the store. Really appreciate customers who will drive several hours to came and shop with me. If you live locally, you too might want to come and check out Plymouth Rock Antiques as we have most everything and lots of it at very reasonable prices.
Have had several drivers for the Amish stay with me this week as well as another lady. My home is not always spotless but hope they enjoy the peace and quiet and my home.
Got behind with weeding so have been trying to clear flower beds. Have gotten three mostly done and think this will be the first year for no garden or perhaps I will just put a couple of tomato plants and some squash in a bed the did have strawberries in it and is close to the house.
Some beautiful evenings this week and some great sunsets. Two of my friends are on vacation so I decided it was time for one of my mini vacations. That means I pick up a sandwich and drive to the banks of the Mississippi River. Saturday evening was lovely. Got some great photos. Drove on to Nauvoo to see if there were any waterlilies in the river anywhere. There were not. Perhaps it is just too early. The river is marvelous when the water lilies are in bloom.
Hear Trump wants to put his photo on a $250 bill. Perhaps I am out of touch but if someone came into my store with a 250-dollar bill, I could not even make change for it. I don’t think many people in this area carry around that much pocket change but perhaps I am wrong.
Have a great week. Enjoy the official start of summer. Scatter kindness and Love.
