Got my taxes done this week-always wait as long as you can! Owe a chunk to the Federal Government. Would not mind at all if my money went to fund NASA, schools, food for those in need, medical help and so much more but knowing that it will go to fund a tiny portion of a golf outing, to help tear off a side of the white house, a luxury plane for some government official or a tiny part of the cost of one bomb just seems wrong for all the work I do to earn it. Humm…
Interesting thing happened this week. I feed my garage kitties a can of wet food every day along with their dry food. I bought 8 cans so I would have an extra. Put them in a plastic bag on the back steps to carry to the garage when I went to feed. There were 3 cans in the bag and 2 on the steps when I went to feed. Started to the garage with what was left and eventually found 2 cans in the grass. That makes 7. I don’t think a coon could carry off 3 cans so I think the neighbor’s dog, which is mostly loose, must have tried to carry them off. Hope it has a can opener.
Wednesday was an interesting day. Went to a doctor at Quincy Medical Group who I had waited almost a month to get an appointment with. He did not agree with the doctors at the Memorial Hospital and I still have no answers. Ordered more tests and said the hospital would call to schedule them. They have not. I think I have been so very lucky to be healthy and hate being in limbo not knowing if I can do my antique shows because of the heavy lifting involved. Also sold 3 quilts at the store on Wednesday and attended the Plymouth Circle meeting at the PCCC on Wednesday. We enjoyed pizza, salad and pie. We meet the 2nd Wednesday of the month at 6 pm at the PCCC and would love to have you join us. Our main goal is to keep the PCCC available for use by the entire community. The building is great with many upgrades and more planned. Come join us.
Thursday, I closed early to get to Macomb in time to change over from US Cellular to T Mobile. Thus far not good. Passwords which I have used for years no longer work. Email often does not down load. When trying to restore passwords, the security codes will not come through either in text or email. I depend on my phone a lot and it is upsetting to not have good service. However, steak night at Hy-Vee was great!
Always take Ed Newton to the Hotel Nauvoo for his birthday. It closed. Hope he had a good birthday anyway. We enjoyed fish, baked beans and sweet potato fries at Augusta.
We raised many kinds of fruit on the farm. One thing we could not raise was apricots so of course, I love them. They are not easy to find in most grocery stores but Walmart has started to carry Better Goods brand in a glass jar. They are from Greece. They are a bit expensive but they are great and there is a lot of halves in a jar. Just glad to be able to get them.
Hope you have a great week. Think everyone is going to have to mow this week as rainy and warm weather will make the grass pop. Be kind. While in Quincy at the doctor’s office, saw two people I know so one never knows what others are going through. Scatter Kindness and Love.
