So sorry to hear of the passing of Art Derry. He was known for playing music in the area. Our sympathy to his family and friends.
Don’t think having 4 kitties makes me a “crazy cat lady”. Puff is the daughter of two ferals from the store. Her personality ranges from sweet companion to Dick, Jane and Baby Sally to evil princess. Boots was left when my neighbor moved, Black Beauty was tossed out with tongue cancer and Smokey came with a foot half missing. Puff normally does not try to go out of the house but if she decides to do so, she springs out with no warning. One night this week, she sprang. It was 10:30 pm and I tried to get her to come in at midnight but she did the walk where she stays out of reach as she travels about the yard. I propped the door open for her and found Boots in the house. When I got him out, I found Catnip also in the house. Don’t even know where he lives! Decided to let her have her way for a while. At 1:00 am went out and called her again. Several minutes later she came to the back door where I, Boots and Smokey waited. She decided to run the gauntlet and get into the house. For two days, she came up behind me and smacked my legs to tell me of her displeasure. I had to remind her that it was she who decided to spring out the door.
Took Ed Newton to the Hotel Nauvoo for his birthday dinner. Love that place.
Attended the fiber fest at Macomb on Saturday morning. It was held at the 4H grounds. Was amazed at the number of vendors showing all kinds of fleece products and fleece in various stages of preparation from raw wool to ready to spin. I went because I sell quite a few spinning wheels and wanted to know more about how to spin. There were three people actually spinning so I got to see how it was done and learn a bit about it. Will definitely attend again when they have another show.
There was a free show at the Legacy Theater last night. Thought I put the program on my desk but can’t find it. Anyway, it was about Carl Sandburg’s Lincoln. One gentleman portrayed Carl Sandburg as he was writing the Lincoln story. I thought the theater would be packed so went early. It was not. Sorry that not more people attended as one should expand their knowledge from time to time. Many thanks to the Theater personnel for the show free to everyone.
Have noticed that the price of the soups which I buy have gone up from 20 cents to a dollar per can in the last two weeks. So glad that I was able to purchase a car in December as I feel prices of vehicles will increase greatly also. What happened to “prices will fall on day one”?
Spring is here. My spring flowers are riots of color. My peach and magnolia tress are blooming. Hope we don’t get a freeze as we did last year and kill the peach blossoms again. Have a good week. Scatter Kindness and Love. Lend a helping hand if needed when you are able to do so.
